How to Manage Devices on the EasyHub Portal

The Devices menu in the EasyHub portal allows property managers to monitor and control all the smart devices installed across different units. This includes thermostats, door locks, gateways, sensors, cameras, and other IoT devices. The system enables centralized management, detailed device configurations, real-time monitoring, and device-specific control.

Key Features of the Devices Page

  1. Device Overview and Categorization

    • Categories: Devices are sorted into categories for easy navigation:

      • Gateway

      • Door Lock

      • Sensor

      • Thermostat

      • IPC (Cameras)

      • Energy

      • Other

    • Device Count: The header displays the total number of devices and a breakdown of their statuses:

      • All Devices

      • Online

      • Offline

      • Low Battery

  2. Device Filters

    • Community Filter: Narrow your search to a specific community or property.

    • Unit Number Filter: Locate devices in a specific property unit.

    • Device Name/ID Filter: Search for devices by name, ID, or Product ID.

  3. Device Information

    • Each device entry includes the following details:

      • Name: The unique identifier for the device, e.g., "Thermostat 2652."

      • Category: The type of device, such as Thermostat (WiFi) or Door Lock.

      • Unit Number: The property or room where the device is installed.

      • Online Status: Real-time connectivity status (e.g., Online/Offline).

      • Device Status: Key operational data such as temperature and battery level.

      • Device ID/Product ID: Unique identifiers for technical reference and troubleshooting.

    • Actions Column:

      • Details: Opens detailed information about the device.

      • Control: Access the device’s advanced control settings.

  4. Batch Management

    • Batch Control: Execute actions on multiple devices simultaneously, such as turning them on/off or applying preset settings.

    • Batch Edit Device Names: Update the names of several devices at once to ensure consistency and clarity.

  5. Real-Time Device Monitoring

    • Monitor critical parameters in real-time, such as:

      • Thermostat temperature and humidity levels.

      • Door lock status (Locked/Unlocked).

      • Gateway connectivity status.


Detailed Instructions for Using the Devices Page

1. Viewing Devices

  1. Navigate to Devices > Devices from the left menu.

  2. Use the header tabs to select:

    • All: View all devices regardless of status.

    • Online: Filter devices currently online.

    • Offline: View devices not connected to the system.

    • Low Battery: Highlight devices with low battery levels.

2. Searching for a Device

  1. Utilize the Search Filters:

    • Select a community from the dropdown menu.

    • Enter the unit number in the Unit No. field.

    • Input the device name, ID, or Product ID in the search bar.

  2. Click Search to display matching results.

  3. Use Reset to clear filters and return to the full device list.

3. Accessing Device Details

  1. Locate the device in the list.

  2. Click Details under the Actions column.

    • View device-specific information such as:

      • Firmware version

      • Connection logs

      • Event history

      • Error codes or alerts

  3. Use this data to diagnose or monitor device performance.

4. Controlling Devices

  1. Click Control under the Actions column.

  2. Adjust the following settings:

    • Thermostats: Set temperature ranges, humidity levels, and operational modes (e.g., Cool/Heat).

    • Door Locks: Enable auto-lock, unlock schedules, and update PIN codes or virtual keys.

    • Cameras: Adjust viewing angles, record settings, or enable live previews.

  3. Save changes to apply configurations.

5. Batch Managing Devices

  1. Select multiple devices by using the checkboxes in the device list.

  2. Click Batch Control to apply actions across all selected devices.

    • Example: Turn off all thermostats in unoccupied units.

  3. Use Batch Edit Device Names to rename devices for better organization.

    • Example: Rename thermostats to include unit numbers (e.g., "Thermostat-Unit101").


Advanced Features

Device Categorization Tabs

The tabs at the top of the page allow for quick navigation between device types:

  • Thermostat: Displays all installed thermostats, with their current temperature, humidity levels, and operational status.

  • Door Lock: Lists all door locks with their lock/unlock state and battery levels.

  • Gateway: Shows active gateways and their network status.

  • IPC (Cameras): Displays camera feeds and alerts.

  • Energy: Highlights devices like smart breakers with energy consumption data.

Real-Time Alerts

  • Notifications for offline devices or low battery warnings are displayed directly on the page.

  • Use this feature to quickly identify devices requiring attention.

Customizable Dashboard

  • Customize the columns displayed on the Devices page to show only the information most relevant to your operation.


Tips for Efficient Device Management

  1. Use Naming Conventions: Ensure each device name reflects its type and location for easy identification (e.g., "Thermostat-Unit202").

  2. Monitor Alerts: Regularly check for low battery or offline statuses to avoid disruptions.

  3. Plan Maintenance: Use the Low Battery tab to schedule battery replacements proactively.

  4. Organize by Community: Filter devices by community to streamline multi-property management.

  5. Leverage Batch Actions: Apply updates or settings to multiple devices at once to save time.


Common Troubleshooting

  • Device Offline: Ensure the gateway is online and within range of the device.

  • Configuration Not Applying: Check firmware version and ensure the device is compatible with the selected settings.

  • Incorrect Temperature Reading: Verify thermostat placement and recalibrate if necessary.
