Smart Device Updates with EasyHub OTA

The Device OTA (Over-the-Air) page in the EasyHub Portal enables property managers and administrators to manage software updates for smart devices installed in their properties. This feature ensures that devices remain up-to-date with the latest firmware, improving performance, fixing issues, and introducing new functionalities. With OTA updates, there is no need to physically reconfigure devices on-site, saving time and reducing operational complexity.

Accessing the Device OTA Page

  1. Log in to your EasyHub account.

  2. Navigate to the left-hand menu and click on Devices > Device OTA.

  3. The Device OTA page will display options for:

    • All: View all devices.

    • To Be Upgraded: Devices with pending updates.

    • In Process: Devices currently being updated.

    • Failed: Devices where updates have failed.

Navigating the Device OTA Page

Key Features:

  • Search Devices:

    • Use the search bar to find specific devices by their Device ID or Product ID.

    • Optionally, search by Unit Number to locate devices installed in specific properties.

    • Click Search to filter results or Reset to clear the search.

  • Device Status:

    • Devices are categorized under tabs to streamline management: All, To Be Upgraded, In Process, and Failed.

    • The page will display a message if no devices are available for updates.

  • Batch Upgrade:

    • Select up to 50 devices using the checkbox and click Batch Upgrade to initiate updates for multiple devices simultaneously.

  • Refresh:

    • Click Refresh to reload the device list and check for new updates.

Performing OTA Updates

  1. Check for Updates:

    • Devices that require updates will appear under the To Be Upgraded tab.

  2. Initiate Updates:

    • Select devices by checking the boxes next to their names or select all devices on the page.

    • Click Batch Upgrade to start the process.

  3. Monitor Progress:

    • Devices being updated will appear under the In Process tab.

    • If an update fails, the device will move to the Failed tab for further action.

Troubleshooting

  • No Updatable Devices:

    • If no devices are displayed under the To Be Upgraded tab, ensure the firmware updates have been released by EasyHub. Contact EasyHub support if necessary.

  • Failed Updates:

    • Navigate to the Failed tab to view devices with unsuccessful updates.

    • Retry updates by selecting the devices and clicking Batch Upgrade again.

  • For large-scale updates, consider performing updates during non-peak hours to minimize disruptions.
