Setting Up Property Automation with EasyHub

Updated over 2 months ago

Creating automation for your properties with EasyHub is a simple and effective way to streamline property management, enhance security, and improve energy efficiency. Follow these steps to set up custom automations for your devices:

Steps to Create Property Automation

  1. Navigate to the Automation Section

    • Log in to the EasyHub portal or app.

    • Go to Devices > Scene & Automation.

  2. Create a New Template

    • Click the option to Create New Template.

    • Give your automation template a clear and descriptive name, reflecting its purpose (e.g., "Post-Checkout Automation" or "Energy-Saving Mode").

  3. Add Devices to the Template

    • Select the devices you want to include in the automation. You can choose from:

      • Door Locks

      • Door/Window Sensors

      • Thermostats

      • Cameras

      • Other connected smart devices.

    • Define how these devices should interact and what actions they should take as part of the automation.

  4. Define Automation Rules and Triggers

    • Set specific conditions and actions for the automation. Examples include:

      • When a Property is Empty: Automatically change the thermostat to 77°F to save energy.

      • After Check-Out:

        • Turn on Door/Window Sensor Notifications and Camera Notifications to enhance property security.

        • Notify the property manager to begin post-checkout inspections.

      • Custom Notifications: Send alerts when certain conditions are met, such as unexpected door openings or motion detection.

  5. Save and Activate the Automation

    • Once you’ve configured the template and defined the rules, save the automation.

    • Activate it to ensure it’s applied to the designated properties and devices.

Why Use Automation?

  1. Energy Efficiency: Automate temperature settings and lighting to reduce energy consumption in unoccupied properties.

  2. Enhanced Security: Enable sensor and camera notifications automatically when properties are vacant.

  3. Operational Efficiency: Streamline tasks like check-out notifications to property managers or staff.

  4. Guest Experience: Ensure optimal settings (temperature, lighting) before guest check-in for a welcoming arrival.

Best Practices for Creating Automations

  • Use Descriptive Names: Clearly label your automations to make them easy to identify and manage.

  • Test Your Automations: After creating a new template, monitor its performance to ensure it behaves as expected.

  • Update as Needed: Regularly review and adjust automations to reflect changes in property use or management needs.
