Guest Access When Door Lock is Offline on the EasyHub Portal

Updated over 2 months ago

Yes, your guest will still be able to access the house even if the door lock appears offline on the EasyHub Portal. EasyHub is designed with robust contingency features to ensure uninterrupted access for guests in such scenarios.

How EasyHub Ensures Guest Access When a Door Lock Is Offline:

  1. Offline Contingency Mode

    • EasyHub smart locks are equipped with an offline contingency mode. This allows the system to continue generating random door lock codes locally, ensuring that guests can check in and access the property without internet connectivity.

  2. Pre-Generated Access Codes

    • Access codes provided to guests prior to their arrival will continue to work, even if the door lock is offline on the portal. The offline status does not affect the lock’s ability to validate pre-set codes.

  3. Temporary Disruption on the Portal

    • If the lock shows offline on the portal, it typically indicates a temporary internet connectivity issue between the lock and the EasyHub Portal. It does not mean the lock itself is non-functional.

  4. Steps to Resolve Offline Status

    • If the offline status persists for more than 48 hours, follow these steps:

      • Contact EasyHub Support: Reach out to our team for assistance in troubleshooting.

      • Send an email to [email protected]

      • Engage Maintenance Staff: Have your team check if the Smart Hub is connected and the property’s internet is operational.

      • Verify Power and Connectivity: Ensure the door lock and hub are properly powered and not unplugged.

Important Notes for Guests and Property Managers:

  • Guests can confidently use their provided access codes, even if the lock status is offline on the portal.

  • It’s always a good practice to proactively monitor the status of smart devices on the EasyHub Portal to address any connectivity issues promptly.
